Frequently asked questions

Straight answers about IP65 metallic cabinets, blast-resistant boxes, and pressurized panels for hazardous chemical environments.

What IP rating do your metallic cabinets have?

All our estanco metallic cabinets are certified IP65, meaning they are dust-tight and protected against low-pressure water jets from any direction. This makes them suitable for outdoor installation in chemical plants and refineries where hose-down cleaning is routine.

Are your junction boxes certified for explosive atmospheres?

Yes. Our blast-resistant junction boxes meet ATEX and IECEx standards for Zone 1 and Zone 2 gas groups as well as combustible dust zones. The flameproof enclosure contains any internal explosion and prevents ignition of the surrounding atmosphere.

How does the pressurization system work on your control panels?

The pressurized control panel uses a continuous purge of clean instrument air to maintain a positive internal pressure. This prevents flammable gases or dust from entering the enclosure. A pressure monitor triggers alarms if the internal pressure drops below the safe threshold.

Can I mount SCADA controllers inside the IP65 cabinet?

Absolutely. The cabinet includes internal mounting plates with pre-drilled patterns for controllers, terminal blocks, and power supplies. The gasketed door and compression latches maintain the seal even after repeated access for maintenance.

What cable entry options are available for the junction box?

We offer multiple certified gland plates that accept a range of cable diameters. The box also includes an internal grounding bar and optional terminal blocks for up to 24 circuits, all within the flameproof enclosure.

Do you provide compliance documentation for hazardous area installations?

Yes. Every pressurized control panel ships with a certificate of conformity to NFPA 496 and IEC 60079-2. We also provide the purge system test report and pressure monitoring calibration records.

Trusted by industry

Proven in hazardous environments

Engineers at chemical processing plants, refineries, and offshore platforms rely on Micinabox enclosures to protect critical SCADA instrumentation from corrosive vapors, dust, and explosive atmospheres.

Senior Instrumentation Engineer Gujarat Chemical Complex

“We installed the IP65 Estanco cabinets across three distillation units. After two monsoon seasons, zero moisture ingress and no corrosion on the terminal blocks. The gasketed door seal is exceptional.”

Electrical Safety Lead Mumbai Refinery

“The blast-resistant junction boxes passed our internal pressure test with a 1.5x safety margin. ATEX certification was straightforward, and the internal grounding bar saved us hours of installation time.”

Project Manager Vadodara Petrochemicals

“Pressurized control panels from Micinabox allowed us to place PLCs and HMI screens directly in Zone 1. The low-pressure alarm gave our operators real-time confidence during the startup phase.”

Maintenance Supervisor Haldia Fertilizer Plant

“We replaced five generic enclosures with Micinabox metallic cabinets. The IP65 rating held up against high-pressure washdowns, and the internal mounting plates made retrofitting existing gear simple.”

Why engineers trust Micinabox for hazardous environments

Our enclosures are built for the specific demands of chemical processing, oil and gas, and pharmaceutical plants. Every cabinet, junction box, and panel is designed to maintain instrument integrity under corrosive atmospheres, explosive risks, and continuous pressurization requirements.

IP65 sealing that holds up to chemical washdown

Unlike standard enclosures that rely on foam gaskets, our metallic cabinets use compression-latched doors with a continuous silicone seal. This design passes the IP65 jet-water test even after repeated exposure to solvents and caustic cleaning agents used in batch processing areas.

Flameproof joints certified for Zone 1 gas groups

Our blast-resistant junction boxes feature machined flameproof flanges with gap widths below 0.1 mm. Each unit is individually pressure-tested and certified to ATEX and IECEx standards for IIB + H2 gas groups, ensuring that an internal ignition cannot propagate to the surrounding atmosphere.

Pressurization with low-loss purge control

The pressurized control panels incorporate a proprietary purge sequence that reduces instrument air consumption by 30% compared to conventional continuous-flow systems. An integrated differential pressure transmitter triggers alarms at 0.5 mbar below setpoint, giving operators time to respond before contamination occurs.

Material selection for sour service environments

All metallic enclosures destined for H₂S-rich zones are fabricated from 316L stainless steel or epoxy-coated carbon steel with NACE MR0175 compliance. Fasteners are A4-80 grade, and grounding studs are welded rather than bolted to eliminate crevice corrosion points.

Thermal management without compromising the seal

For cabinets housing heat-generating SCADA equipment, we offer passive heat sinks bonded to the enclosure wall and sealed cable entry ports that maintain the IP rating. No external fans or louvers are required, preserving the integrity of the hazardous-area boundary.

Traceable documentation for every assembly

Each enclosure ships with a serialized dossier that includes material test certificates, pressure test records, wiring diagrams, and a signed declaration of conformity. This documentation package satisfies the audit requirements of most major EPC contractors and insurance underwriters.
